Seascape from the 'Umberleigh'

A sketch made from a low viewpoint on the 'Umberleigh'. It shows a trough in a wave on the foreground on the right. The peaks of the waves are shown using thicker paint. The sea has been painted in a stylized manner and is shown as dark green and blue to contrast with the lightness of the sky. Everett sailed in the steamer, 'Umberleigh', from Barry, Wales, to Vancouver, Canada, in December 1933 and returned in March 1934. The painting is inscribed 'Um' verso.
