Botafogo Cove, Morro Da Urca and Sugar Loaf at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The photographer is looking east-south-east from an elevated vantage point showing the Church of the Immaculate Conception (Imaculada Conceicao) and the adjoining College in the right foreground. A tree-lined promenade faces Botafogo Bay and the Morro Da Viuva is on the left with a castellated building on the headland next to it. On the far side of the bay to the left of centre of the picture is the Sugar Loaf and to the right of centre is Morro Da Urca. Two large advertisements are displayed at the foot of the Morro Da Urca; 'Goodyear' and 'Vanadiol Fortifica'.
