The photographer is looking north-north-west from the Stadsgarden showing the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company vessel Viceroy of India (1929), seen from off her port quarter, in the centre. On the right is the bow of the Dutch cruise ship Veendam (1923) which is dressed overall and beyond her is the Polish ship Pilsudski (1935), seen from abaft her port beam and dressed overall. The Gamla Stan district of the city is in the background and on the left is the iron spire of Riddarholm Church.
