The coast at the north end of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Tenerife Island, Canary Islands. The photographer is on board the Canadian Pacific Steamships cruise ship Montclare (1922), which is alongside the outer breakwater, looking towards the coast showing a pier or jetty being extended seawards. A large crowd is on the pier which is being extended using square stone or concrete blocks handled by a large crane. Buildings are on the side of the mountain.
