The market set up by the passenger terminal in the port of Yokohama, Japan. The photographer is on board an unidentified cruise ship looking down and along the quayside showing a number of market stalls set up under the canopy of a two storey concrete building with lines of flags decorating the area. The quay is fenced off from the general public and bicycles are parked in the right foreground. The stalls are selling a full range of souvenirs including silks, kimonos and bonsai trees. A substantial number of people are standing on the rooftop viewing area. An American Dollar Line passenger/cargo liner of the United States Shipping Board 535 feet class is berthed on the far side of the wharf and she is dressed overall.
