A port broadside view of the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929) at anchor and moored in the Saltsjon at Stockholm, Sweden.
A port broadside view of the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929) at anchor and moored in the Saltsjon at Stockholm, Sweden. Both her anchors are deployed and she has an accommodation ladder rigged aft with one of her boats alongside it. A lighter is alongside amidships. The photographer is looking north from an elevated position near the Sodermalm wharves showing the dome of the Skeppsholmen Church, built in 1849, in the left background. In the centre background beyond the ship is the Nordoska Museet, (Nordic Museum) on the island of Djurgarden. The negative is very slightly out of focus.
