A port near broadside view, taken from only just ahead of the beam, of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Strathmore (1935) at anchor off Istanbul, Turkey. She has her starboard anchor deployed and is flying the Blue Peter from the starboard yardarm on the foremast and the Turkish flag from the foremast head. Her midships accommodation ladder is rigged but is hauled up. She has a number of service craft alongside amidships, including one with the letter S on its funnel.
