On board the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929) north of the Arctic Circle at the time of the midnight sun. The photographer is on the port side of the boat deck looking forward and to port showing four of the passengers standing at the rail under one of the boats. They are looking aft and to port. The two women are wearing fur coats and the men are in overcoats. The guardrails are fitted with a canvas dodger. The negative is captioned "Midnight sun".
