A general view of vessels in Hoo Marina, Kent, including the spritsail barge Ethel Maud (1889) alongside the swim-headed lighter Connaught. The Ethel Maud (1889) is in the centre on a mud berth and is seen from wide off her starboard bow. Her sails have been removed but her masts are standing and appear to have received a fresh coat of black paint. A small motor boat is alongside the Ethel Maud. The photographer is on the foreshore looking past the sterns of two vessels that have been hauled out on slipways.
