A port near broadside view, taken from just ahead of the beam, of the Orient Steam Navigation Company passenger liner Ormuz (1886) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She is flying the Blue Peter from the foremast and her company houseflag from the main. A pilot flag is flying from the bridge signal halyards. There are no yards on her masts. A line is running from the bow to a tug (out of the picture) and a small boat is by the mooring buoy ready to disconnect the lines. The passenger ferry Thames (1868) is alongside forward and a steam passenger launch is alongside amidships. Tilbury is in the background.
