A close view of the starboard side of the forepart of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cargo liner Stratharlick (1969) in the South West India Dock, London. She is berthed port side to Berth N and is loading a Port of London Authority steel lighter using her 150 ton Stulcken derrick. The photographer is looking across a number of lighters in the foreground and one of them contains a Redland Fibaflow pipe which is consigned to Khorramshahr in Iran. The lift has commenced and the lighter's bow has been lifted clear of the water. The ship already has a deck cargo of two Redland Fibaflow pipes alongside number three hatch and a Ford D series motor lorry is being lifted aboard from the quayside. Transparencies numbers P64715CT to P64724CT were taken on the same occasion.
