        Looking down on the aft end of the British India Steam Navigation Company cargo liner Chakdara (1951) from the roof of a storage shed on a quay at Sunderland, Durham.  The ship is berthed port side to the quay and a dockside crane is being used to discharge the cargo of bales of Tanganyika sisal from number 4 hold.  Temporary horse stalls are on deck on either side of number 4 hatch coaming.  Some of the bales of sisal are on the 1st floor balcony of the storage shed in the right foreground.  Negatives PM1792/4A to PM1796/30A were taken on the same occasion.
