A whale hauled up on the slipway at the Bluff Whaling Station, Durban, South Africa. It has been hauled up tail first, ready for flensing. The photographer was an apprentice on board the Bank Line cargo vessel Tymeric (1919) which was in port for bunkers and provisions before departing for the U.K. on 1 July 1939.
