The 4-inch gun on the poop of the Bank Line general cargo vessel Aymeric (1919) while under way at sea. The gun's breech is open and apprentice Jow White is oiling the base of the pedestal. The photographer was an apprentice on board and is looking aft. Between 24 January and 19 March the ship did one round voyage Tyne to Bone and between 1 April and 15 June she did one round voyage Tyne to Freetown.
