Looking aft on board the Bank Line general cargo ship Tymeric (1919) during a cyclone off the east coast of Australia. The photographer, who was one of three apprentices serving on board the ship, is looking aft along the port side from the aft boat deck showing water cascading over the deck abreast numbers four and five hatches. Awning bars are rigged over the poop deck. Slide 27 from the "Apprentice Boy", Captain Henry P. Bird's lecture about his life as an apprentice for Bank Line in the period 1937-1941. The lecture consists of 39 slides.
