A starboard bow view, taken from very fine off the bow, of the Royal Navy battleship Cornwallis (1901) sliding down the ways on launching at the Thames Iron Works shipyard at Blackwall, London. The photographer is on the viewing platform above the starboard sliding way as the hull moves down the ways and enters the water. The drag chain ropes have not yet been put under any strain. A note on the vertical format negative says the photographer is using Camera B.
