Single picture reel for ‘View-Master’ entitled ‘1100 The Clipper “Cutty Sark”, storage envelope and accompanying booklet,
A View-Master reel, entitled '1100 The Clipper "Cutty Sark" Greenwich, England', with storage envelope and accompanying booklet. A cardboard disk containing seven pairs of Stereoscopic 3-D transparent colour photographs on film. This reel includes photographs of the exterior of Cutty Sark, some interiors of cabins on board and other details.
View-Master stereoscopes were popular toys, first made in 1939 and allowed users to view 3D colour images of tourist attractions and travel views. This view of Cutty Sark likely dates from between 1954 when the ship was berthed in Greenwich and 1966 when the design changed. It was part of a larger series of views of the UK and a sub-series of well-known ship views.
