A tin case base of shallow rectangular shape stamped with the device of the Admiralty seal - a foul anchor surrounded by an oak leaf and surmounted by a crown with the Latin inscription 'SIGIL . OFF I. MAG . ADM MAG .BR. &C.' 'Fowler' is scratched in cursive script on the base.
