Approaching the Culebra Cut (formerly the Galliard Cut) taken from the bridge of the suction hopper dredger Geopotes X (1969). The photographer is standing on the port side of the bridge looking forward. The words "145247(?)" are painted on the cabin of the small work tug Edwin M, which is being carried as deck cargo on board Geopotes X. Edwin M. is stowed just aft of the fore goalpost mast. The fore navigation light mast is forward of the goalpost mast. Both sides of the canal banks are in the middle ground. The port of registry "Gorinchem" is written on the stern of the tug.
