An informal portrait of a Chinese winch driver sitting at rest under a umbrella on board the bulk carrier London Explorer (1959) berthed at Sembawang, Singapore. The photographer is standing on the starboard side of No. 2 winch house, looking to port. The winch driver is looking at the photographer and the port side winch is just behind him. This is Slide 21 of a series of slides detailing Captain H. Bird's service as Second Officer on board the bulk carrier London Explorer (1959), owned by London & Overseas Freighters Ltd. from 11 July 1972 to 16 October 1972. The series consists of 39 slides.
