A mixture of schooners and fishing vessels berthed at the harbour for the Schooner Market in Willemstad, Curacao. The photographer is standing on Queen Wilhemina Bridge looking westwards. There are 11 vessels berthed on the quayside. Market stalls and buildings line the left hand side of the image. The Customs House building is on the corner of the quayside in the middle background on the left hand side of the image. Buildings are in the background on the far side of the river bank. This is Slide 46 of a series of slides detailing Captain H. Bird's service as Watchkeeping Officer on board the cable ship John W. Mackay (1922) owned by the Commercial Cable Company of London from 22 January 1973 to 26 April 1973. The series consists of 62 slides.
