A group portrait of a skipper, a cook and the wireless operator outside a cafe in Treguier, France. According to the photographer's note, the cook is named Nicolette, the skipper is named Samson. whilst the wireless operator is named George. Samson and Nicolette are looking at the photographer whilst George is looking off to the left side of the image. This is Slide 28 of a series of slides detailing Captain H. Bird's service as supernumerary Second Officer on board the sand suction dredger Sand Swan (1970) and eventually Chief Officer on the sand suction dredger Sand Skua (1971) owned by the South Coast Shipping Co. Ltd. from 6 May 1973 to 27 June 1973.
