Vehicles disembarking from a Red Funnel Line ferry at East Cowes, Isle of Wight. A canvas covered flatbed lorry has just disembarked from the open bow door whilst a vehicle towing a caravan is driving towards the ramp. Cars are parked outside the White Hart Inn on the left side of the image. A green Southern Vectis bus and a lorry are waiting at the crossroads just forward of the lowered bow ramp. numerous vehicles are parked either side of the lowered bow ramp in the foreground. This is Slide 12 of a series of slides detailing Captain H. Bird's service as summer relief Chief Officer on board various ferries operated by Red Funnel (also known as Southampton, Isle of Wight and South of England Royal Mail Steam Packet Company Limited) from 27th July 1973 until late August 1973. This series consists of 25 slides.
