Looking towards Adderley Street in Cape Town, South Africa. The photographer is standing on the edge of the pavement in the middle of Heerengracht Street looking south west. parked cars and buildings line both sides of the street extending from the fore ground to the middle ground. There is a tree lined avenue separating the left and right roads of Heerengracht Street. The Amalgamated Banks of South Africa (ABSA) Tower block is in the middle ground on the right hand side of the image. Numerous other tower block and buildings on both sides of the road extend from the middle ground to the background. Table Mountain is in the far background. This is Slide 20 of a series of slides detailing Captain H. Bird's service as Chief Officer for the coaster King On [ex- Stability] (1949) owned by Everards of Greenhithe from 24 October 1973 to 3 January 1974. This series consists of 49 slides.
