A partial view of the pontoons of the Queen Emma Bridge extnds from the foreground to the middle ground on the right side of the image. Two barges and a motor launch, possibly a police boat are berthed along side the quayside in the foreground. There 9 buildings on the waterfront. The forth building from the left of the images bears the sign 'Seiko'. The fifth building from the left bears the sign 'David's'. The second building from the right bears the sign 'Penha & Sons'. A partial view of the first building on the right bears the sign 'KNSM'. This is Slide 9 of a series of slides detailing Captain H. Bird's service as Watchkeeping Officer for the cable ship John W. Mackay (1922) owned by Commercial Cable Company of London from 31 July 1975 to 28 October 1975. This series consists of 17 slides.
