A view of the shopfronts on Breedestraat in Willemstad, Curacao. The photographer is standing on the western side of the street looking south by south east towards the opposite side. 3 men, two walking and one sitting are on the opposite side of the street. There are 5 buildings extending from the left soide of the image to the right.The far left building bears a sign 'HBU' on the roof. The second building from the left is light green bears two signs. The first reads ;' El Louvre Liqours, Perfumes' whilst the second reads 'Warenhuis'. The third building is pink and bears a sign reading 'Aquarius'. The forth building is yeelow and bears the sign ' Importacion Italiana, a corner of Italy in Curacao'. There is a partial view of a fifth building on the right with a partial sign reading 'Spritzer & Fu'. The rest of the sign is cut off. This is Slide 10 of a series of slides detailing Captain H. Bird's service as Watchkeeping Officer for the cable ship John W. Mackay (1922) owned by Commercial Cable Company of London from 31 July 1975 to 28 October 1975. This series consists of 17 slides.
