Kalkara Creek, Fort St Angelo and Dockyard Creek, Vittoriosa, Malta.
Looking across Malta's Grand Harbour from the Upper Barracca, Valletta, to Kalkara Creek, Fort St Angelo and Dockyard Creek. The hulk (base ship) Egmont (1863), seen from just abaft the port beam, is moored in Kalkara Creek. The Royal Naval Hospital, Bighi, is beyond the Egmont. In the bottom left corner is the bow of the cargo ship Kossuth Ferencz (1907). Berry's notebook says the photograph was taken at 18.15 on 7 August but the Kossuth Ferencz arrived from Sulina on 3 August and sailed the same day for Rotterdam, confirmed by Lloyd's Voyage Records..
