A port side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of a small naval gig under oars in Dockyard Creek, Malta. She is about 16 feet long, carvel-built with a transom stern and has a naval crest on the bow of the boat. The boat is being rowed by two Royal Navy seamen and the passengers are Enid Berry and Miss Cather. The photograph was taken at 14.00 in bright conditions. The Naval Bakery, Vittoriosa, is in the left background. The church of San Lorenzo, the public ferry landing with a steamer alongside, and the Dock Yard Arms, formerly the Army & Navy Bar, are on the right. Very slightly unsharp.
