A general view of waves breaking on the foreshore of the Ricasoli rocks to seaward of Fort Ricasoli, Grand Harbour, Malta, taken at about 16.00 and looking to seaward. A cargo ship is on the horizon. The photographer indicates that the location is "near Sardinia's wreck". The Ellerman ship Sardinia (1888) was wrecked and burnt out on the rocks at Ricasoli 25 Novemberember 1908 with the loss of about 120 persons.
