Jack Berry bathing at Bighi, Malta.
Jack Berry standing on the rocky shore at Bighi, Malta, wearing a bathing costume. The photographer is looking north and in the left background is Fort St Elmo and the north (St Elmo) breakwater. On the right is Fort Ricasoli and the south (Ricasoli) breakwater. These breakwaters protect and enclose Grand Harbour. A 16 feet gig, with awning rigged, is being rowed offshore by either Andrea or Johnny. The time is given in Berry's notebook as 14.45.
