The Royal Naval Exhibition at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, London in 1891
The Royal Naval Exhibition at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, ran from 2 May to 24 October 1891. This is in the Blake Gallery in the main exhibition building, adjacent to the Nelson Art Gallery. Amongst the many paintings there are some recognisable ones. At the far end is Romney's full length portrait of Admiral sir Francis Geary and on the right wall are Northcote's portrait of Admiral Sir Thomas Graves and Pocock's Battle of Frigate Bay, St Kitts. A copy negative produced by the NMM Studio of a mounted photographic print contained in Photograph Album No. ALB1386.
