The Royal Naval Exhibition at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, London in 1891
The Royal Naval Exhibition at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, ran from 2 May to 24 October 1891. This is inside the Trafalgar Panorama and shows part of the painting by Chevalier Philip Fleischer as seen from the central viewing platform which replicates the poop of the flagship Victory. Lord Nelson is shown fallen just left of centre. The French Redoubtable and British Temeraire are on the right. Fleischer's canvas was 310 feet round by 32 feet 6 inches high. A copy negative produced by the NMM Studio of a mounted photographic print contained in Photograph Album No. ALB1386.
