The Royal Naval Exhibition at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, London in 1891
The Royal Naval Exhibition at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, ran from 2 May to 24 October 1891. This is inside Section I of the Armstrong Gallery and represents a full-sized, working 5-ton, 6-inch breech-loading gun on an hydraulic disappearing coast defence mounting. The working of the gun was demonstrated throughout the day. A copy negative produced by the NMM Studio of a mounted photographic print contained in Photograph Album No. ALB1386.
