The roll-on roll-off cargo and container ship Atlantic Causeway (1969) berthed in a North American port, possibly Newport, Rhode Island, unloading the British yacht Victory '83 (1983) which was to compete for the Louis Vuitton Cup in the U.S.A.
A starboard quarter view, taken from wide off the stern, of the roll-on, roll-off cargo and container ship Atlantic Causeway (1969) berthed stern-on to the ramp at a roll-on roll-off berthed, possibly at Newport, Rhode Island. Only the stern of the ship is in the picture. Being driven up the ramp on a low loader trailer is the 12 metre yacht Victory '83 (1983), the British challenger for the Louis Vuitton Cup. The yacht is completely covered with sheeting and a banner on her hull reads "Shipped by A.C.L. No. 1 on the North Atlantic". A banner on the trailer reads "John Bull Shipping. Good luck - Victory. America's Cup Challenge 1983". A duplicate of a colour negative.
