Collecting rocks from Scarborough foreshore, Yorkshire.
Looking north-north-west from the northern end of Black Rocks at low tide. The Grand Hotel, St Nicholas Cliff, is on the skyline. In the foreground a gang of men are loading rocks into a horse drawn cart. A man is using a sledge hammer to break up the rock and there are pickaxes and shovels on the ground.
