Three prefabricated sections of the hull of the destroyer Contest (1944) in the welding shop at the East Cowes shipyard of J Samuel White & Co Ltd. The two larger sections are inverted and are the starboard and port sides of the lower hull between bulkheads 71 and 77. The shaft swell and cut up at frame 73 can be plainly seen. In the foreground is bulkhead 64 laid flat. A copy negative of a photographic print produced from Beken of Cowes negative number 25638.
