A lead-lined wooden box standing on the anchor cable bitts on the lower deck of the former ship-of-the-line Victory (1765) in Portsmouth Dockyard. In the Portsmouth Dockyard negative register the box is described as a "flower box of Nelson's time". It is viewed from one end, is rectangular with a clawed foot in each corner and each foot is fitted with a small castor. It has carrying handles at each end. Each handle is a metal ring held in the mouth of a maned lion's head. Vertical format.
