The submarine X1 (1923) in No. 12 dry dock, Portsmouth Dockyard.
A bow view of the submarine X1 (1923) dried out in No. 12 dry dock, Portsmouth Dockyard. The photographer is standing on the stone steps midway up the dock and is looking at the X1 from slightly to starboard of her stem. The tip of the jackstaff is just out of the picture. In the background alongside No. 3 Basin promontory is the battleship Barham (1914) undergoing reconstruction. Her funnels have been removed.
