The battlecruiser Hood (1918) at Sheer Jetty in Portsmouth Dockyard.
The starboard side of the stern of the battlecruiser Hood (1918) taken from a slightly elevated position on Sheer Jetty in Portsmouth Dockyard. The photographer is focussing on the Farnborough FIVH catapult and the Stothert & Pitt crane fitted on the quarterdeck. The catapult is trained athwartships but is still folded. The crane is fore and aft with the jib raised. The guns in Y turret are at maximum depression. Four seamen can just be seen at the bottom of the picture painting the boot topping from a pontoon alongside the hull.
