A close-up interior view of the damage to the starboard side of the hull of the battleship Nelson (1925) at about station 134, taken on the main deck looking down and to starboard in the partially stripped out ordnance & electrical artificers' mess. The photograph shows the internal supports for a bolted on patch at the junction of the deck with the ship's side. The damage was caused by a collision with the Cardiff tramp steamer West Wales (1925) off Cape Villano, Spain on 29 Mar. 1931. The Nelson (1925) is in Portsmouth Dockyard.
