The light cruiser Neptune (1933) in No. 14 Dry Dock, Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire
On board the light cruiser Neptune (1933), while the ship was undergoing a 2 month docking in No. 14 Dry Dock, Portsmouth Dockyard, looking aft and slightly to port from the crane amidships. A partial wooden mock up of an aircraft is in place on the port side ahead of the mainmast where an actual aircraft would be stowed. On the right are the 100 ton sheerlegs and in the background is the 250 ton hammerhead crane on the promontory in No. 3 Basin. Under the hammerhead crane is the light cruiser Amphion (1934) fitting out.
