The demolished 100 ton sheerlegs in No. 3 Basin, Portsmouth Dockyard, seen from the quayside east of No. 14 Dock. The front legs of the sheerlegs are floating, as is the top end of the fractured rear leg. The bottom end of the rear leg is resting on the quayside. A steam launch is standing by. The bow of the light cruiser Enterprise (1919) is in the right background berthed on the east side of the basin. The battleship Queen Elizabeth (1913) is undergoing reconstruction under the 250 ton hammerhead crane on the promontory in the background.
