Bomb damage to the destroyer Boadicea (1930) in dry dock in Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire

A close detail of the bottom of the hull of the destroyer Boadicea (1930) in dry dock in Portsmouth Dockyard, taken from the bottom of the dock off the starboard beam, showing the damaged bottom plating between stations 100 and 104 under the engine room. A bomb exploded in the engine room and killed all of the engine room personnel bar one. The bombing occurred off the French coast near Fecamp on 10 Jun. 1940 and the Boadicea was towed to Dover and then on to Portsmouth.
