The submarine Oberon (1926) in No. 2 Basin, Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire
A close port side view, taken from across the quay just abaft the beam, of the conning tower and 4 inch gun of the submarine Oberon (1926) which is berthed on the east side of No. 2 Basin in Portsmouth Dockyard. She has a 20 mm cannon on her anti-aircraft platform and her pendant number is N21. Her hull is below the level of the quay which is cluttered with gas cylinders, a bicycle and a brow on which a mattress is laid over the hand wires. In the right background is the bow of a tank landing craft and the south end of No. 2 Ship Shop. The Steel and Small Brass Foundry is on the left.
