Damage to an unidentified vessel alongside in Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire

A close detail of minor damage to the rubbing strake and bulwark rail of an unidentified vessel alongside a jetty in Portsmouth Dockyard. The photograph is taken from the quayside near the stern of the vessel looking forward and to starboard. The ship is quite small, steel-built and has a hold. She has chain and wire steering. The Portsmouth Dockyard negative register says this is damage to the port side of the s.s. Lamb but no vessel of this name extant in 1943 can be traced in any register. The Portsmouth Dockyard negative register number P10/43 is written near the bottom of the negative.
