Sheet piling being undertaken to reinforce the walls of Vernon Creek, Portsmouth as seen from Old Gunwharf looking west-north-west towards the Portsmouth Harbour Railway Station Pier. A new 27 feet long pile is just starting to be lowered into position. The Southern Railway coaling hulk and a barrage balloon are in the background.
