The construction of the light cruiser Hawke on No. 5 Slip, Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire.
Looking aft from the centreline on the preformed keel plate at the forward end of the light cruiser Hawke on No. 5 Slip in Portsmouth Dockyard. The vertical keel runs aft from keel block 13 and has been bolted into position. The first of the lower bulkheads and the double bottom frames are in position. The Portsmouth Dockyard negative register number P147/43 has been written near the lower centre of the negative.
