The construction of two G78 LILO units in Admiralty Floating Dock 11 (1924) in Fountain Lake, Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire.
Two G78 LILO units under construction on the floor of Admiralty Floating Dock 11 (1924) which is moored in Fountain Lake, Portsmouth Dockyard. A rubber airbag has been fitted to one of the hollow concrete tubes and inflated. The airbag, which has the stensilled number BX-01 on it, is held up on a series of wires stretched across the dock. The other concrete tube can be seen on the left. The photographer is looking north-west across the dock from the east end of the south side wall. The Portsmouth Dockyard negative register number P160/43 has been written in the bottom left corner of the negative.
