Testing paints on the destroyer Porcupine (1941) in No. 3 Basin, Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire.
A close port broadside view of the bridge of the destroyer Porcupine (1941) alongside the jetty on No. 3 Basin between Nos 13 and 14 Dry Docks in Portsmouth Dockyard. Various parts of the structure have been painted in different formulae of paint. The numbers A1/B.55 and A1/G.45 can be seen on different areas under the bridge. Her pendant number, part of which can be seen, is G93. The photographer is standing on the stern section of the ship which is berthed alongside the forward section. The Portsmouth Dockyard negative register number P215/43 has been written in the bottom left corner of the negative.
