The bows of the submarines Thor or Tiara under construction in No. 13 Dry Dock in Portsmouth Dockyard, taken from the top of the dock off the port bows. The first frames for the above water bow plating have been fitted on the nearest boat whereas the upper bow plating on the furthest boat is complete. Only the bows as far aft as frame 40 are in the picture. The Portsmouth Dockyard negative register number P95/44 has been written in the bottom right corner of the negative.
